Checking if the latest version has been installed

Oilon Selection Tool checks automatically for updates and downloads them for installation. This may be prevented if there is no internet available or the tool hasn’t been used in a long time.

To check if an update is available:

  1. In the start view, open the three bar menu.

Menu button, icon with three white bars on top of each other
  1. Press Updates….

  2. Press Check for updates.

Menu items: Updates... -> Check for updates

The program will either indicate that the software is up to date or ask if you want to install the update.

Troubleshooting

Every time I start the software, an update is installed

When you launch Oilon Selection Tool, it will automatically check for updates and install them. If the update fails, the software will try to install it after every launch until it succeeds. This can be repeated indefinitely, if the cause of the problem has not been fixed.

Try rebooting your computer.

If the problem persists, make sure you have write permissions for the folder the software is installed in. Otherwise the update cannot be installed.
