Insights¶
Get timely recommendations and useful messages delivered right to your personal Inbox!
Insights are based on your selected topics (what interests you) and sources (where the information comes from), so what you see is tailored for you. You don’t have to set anything up—your Inbox will automatically show relevant information based on your preferences and your devices.
The Insight system is designed to help you stay informed and make the most of your devices by providing actionable insights that can improve performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
Key terms¶
Insight: A message or recommendation delivered to you based on your devices and preferences.
Inbox: The personalized feed where you receive your Insights.
Topic: A category or subject area that an Insight belongs to. The most common is #main, which is generally relevant. You can filter the Insights by topic to focus on specific areas of interest.
Source: The origin of the Insight, often a device serial number or a specific data source. You can filter the Insights by source to see information related to specific devices or data sources.
Subscription: Your preferences for which topics and sources you want to receive Insights about. You can manage these in your subscription settings, accessible by clicking the Subscriptions button. You can also unsubscribe from specific sources or topics directly from an Insight card by clicking on the topic or source and selecting Unsubscribe. You don’t see insights from unsubscribed sources or topics.
Status: The current state of an Insight, such as “new”, “read”, or “archived”. You can change the status of an Insight using the dropdown menu on the Insight card. This helps you keep track of which Insights you’ve already seen and which ones you want to save for later.
